BBC Versus the MET Office – Is War About To Start?
Paul Hudson, one of the more balanced forecasters at the BBC, has speculated in his blog:
“Could the model, seemingly with an inability to predict colder seasons, have developed a warm bias, after such a long period of milder than average years”
In a double whammy for the MET, the BBC, whose contract with the MET is up in April, is considering using a different company to provide their forecasts.
The MET is in climategate up to its neck with the UEA CRU, and perhaps the BBC, smelling that the game is up, is now about to put some distance between itself and the seemingly imminent car crash?
Now if Richard Black could bring himself to cover the story about how the IPCC is to retract its claims on Himalayan glacier retreat, then just maybe we could be seeing a thaw to the 100 year winter that has gripped the BBC environmental coverage…..
